Unlock a User Account

If a user attempts to log on to his or her account unsuccessfully five times, the account becomes locked and a lock icon appears as the user’s status on the main User Administration page. In order for the user to access his or her account, an Account Owner or Account Administrator must unlock the account.

To unlock a user’s account, click the Unlock link next to the lock icon by the user’s name on the User Administration page. The account is now unlocked and the user can log on to his or her account.

If the user has forgotten his or her password, it might be necessary to unlock the user account and reset the user's account password. For more information about resetting a user’s password, see the Reset a User Password topic.
